Flowers for a Tea occasion
By Grand Master Fuden-an Sojitsu
Flower: “Fukurin-edo-nishiki-tsubaki” or camellia, “kuro-robai” or plum tree.
Vase: Bamboo vases with two cuts, named “Setsujyo”, made by Kobori Enshu.
Bamboo vases from Kobori Enshu can be divided into four categories: a notch, two cuts, two cuts without a knot and Shakuhachi. The vase I used this month is relatively long. Camellia from the end of March to April tends to be marbled and double flowered. I matched the camellia with a plum tree to give the sensation of the season.
